Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS), which first announced programmatic access price lists for offerings one year ago, has since expanded the program’s scope and now provides daily aggregated price list notifications.
The AWS Price List API service was launched in December 2015 and only covered 13 AWS services. The company recently announced that it has expanded its coverage to include all services.
Tara Walker, spokesperson for AWS Price List API, stated that customers can sign up to receive notifications about price cuts, new services, and instance types. You can choose to receive updates once per day or every time there is a price change by subscribing to notifications. If you opt to be notified by SNS once per day, all price changes that occurred during that day will be included in the notification.
The API provides pricing data in JSON or CSV format. Amazon Simple Notification Service is used to deliver the notifications.
Walker stated that the AWS Price List API has been expanded to include all AWS Services. Subscribing is a great way for you to stay up-to-date with the latest AWS price cuts and to get introductions to new services.
